For those who have trouble accepting yourself and recognising how unique you are in this life, this one’s for you:

Here’s the lyrics – sing along and believe – then watch the magic happen:
Stay The Same”
[Chorus]
Don’t you ever wish you were someone else,
You were meant to be the way you are exactly.
Don’t you ever say you don’t like the way you are.
When you learn to love yourself, you’re better off by far.
And I hope you always stay the same,
cuz there’s nothin’ ’bout you I would change.
[Verse]
I think that you could be whatever you wanted to be
If you could realize, all the dreams you have inside.
Don’t be afraid if you’ve got something to say,
Just open up your heart and let it show you the way.
[Chorus]
[Bridge]
Believe in yourself.
Reach down inside.
The love you find will set you free.
Believe in yourself, you will come alive.
Have faith in what you do.
You’ll make it through.
[Chorus]
Peace to all.
This song made me realise how special and unique is each and every person we meet. I am now questioning myslef, if it is even fair to expect some one to change ….

Hi Kaya
Indeed, when I first heard this song, I was also wondering how fair it is to expect people to change … but I realised also that the premise for a song like this serves as a clear reminder of believing we each have a unique ‘thumbprint’ and to change that thumbprint means changing all the things that are truly ‘us’ and all that’s real. Without being real in the lives we lead and our daily walk, it’s hard to resist the temptation to change just for the sake of doing so. ‘Staying the same’ to me also means treasuring our true heart and not be easily swayed by the sometimes, undisciplined ways of this world. We still must keep the greater purpose of being better people otherwise life would have very little meaning, but not to the expense of ‘losing ourselves’ along the way. And that’s what ‘stay the same’ means at the end of the day.
